(Sacramento, Calif.)— Rochelle Barcellona, President and Creative Director of Barcellona Inc., will speak to a group of graphic design students at the Art Institute of California, Sacramento on November 4th.  The topic is “Real-World Design” and Barcellona, who is no stranger to this, will impart her real-world knowledge of daily advertising challenges and successes with the eager students.
“I’m looking forward to talking to students about the difference being designing for a class grade and designing for a client,” said Barcellona, “It is going to be an open discussion where the students can ask specific questions about what I look for when hiring a designer, for example. I’ll also be giving them an actual design project to work on for one of our clients.”
Barcellona has been a guest speaker at several notable events this year including the Sacramento Green Home Expo and the Builder Marketing Society’s Fall Conference.

“You cannot imagine how important and educational it is for these students to get a glimpse of the real-world applications of design,” said Joanne Tepper-Saffren, professor of design at Sacramento State.  “Last quarter, this was the student’s favorite and most important project.”

Earlier this year, Rochelle was named to the California Building Industry Association’s (CBIA) Public Affairs Committee and accepted a second term as a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Board of Directors. She serves as a trustee for both the National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC) and the Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM). She is chair of the NSMC’s Sales & Marketing Ideas Magazine Advisory Board and has received her MIRM designation, which is the Institute’s highest recognition of a new home marketing expert. All in a days work for the busy advertising and public relations powerhouse.
