FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Rocklin, CA) - February 9, 2008 – Whitney Ranch, the amenity-focused master planned community in Rocklin, will host an Open House to celebrate the opening of The Ranch House. The resident-exclusive community center will be open to the public and residents from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, Feb. 9. The event will include refreshments, kids’ crafts, music, an Audubon demonstration and exclusive self guided tours of The Ranch House.

Indoors, residents will enjoy the Grand Chaparral Ballroom and Hideaway Hills Lounge as well as conference facilities, a demonstration kitchen and much more.  The Ranch House also houses the Whitney Ranch Homeowner’s Association offices. Outside is a 4,000 square foot pool, nearby children’s wading pool with splash pad, shaded cabanas, shower house, picnic lawn and BBQ area for residents to enjoy during the summer months. Anticipated to open the first of March, all Whitney Ranch residents will have exclusive access to all the homeowner facilities on site, many of which can be reserved for special occasions or large gatherings.

“The Ranch House will be a great place to gather with other families in the neighborhood,” said Laurie Roche, homeowner at Wisteria by Christopherson Homes. “We have really been looking forward to it opening.”

The distinctive architecture of The Ranch House is in harmony with the community’s ranch-style theme. Residents are welcomed under a grand porte-cochere and simple, but stately stonework which adorns all sides of The Ranch House.  A decorative iron entry gate greets visitors at the reception. A wooden water wheel on one side harkens back to a simpler time and adds more ranch-themed flare. Inside, stunning open beamed ceilings and a grand fireplace beckons residents to make themselves at home.

“We wanted to build something that was architecturally striking while still being as comfortable as the residents’ very own family rooms,” said Bob Anders, project manager for Newland Communities. “We knew The Ranch House would be the highlight of the community.”
